Job Summary

The Production Specialist is responsible for the overall operational performance and efficiency of the manufacturing plant. This role involves managing daily production schedules, ensuring product quality standards, overseeing equipment maintenance, enforcing strict workplace safety regulations, and managing the factory’s budget.

The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic planning and hands-on problem-solving to drive continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and operational excellence across all production lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Scheduling: Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily manufacturing schedules to meet production targets and customer delivery timelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality control protocols to ensure all output meets industry standards and company benchmark criteria.
  • Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Monitor equipment performance, coordinate preventive maintenance, and minimize operational downtime.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations (EHS standards) across the facility to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Budget & Financial Management: Oversee plant operational expenses, manage Profit & Loss (P&L), and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Process Improvement: Implement Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S methodologies, and continuous improvement strategies to optimize production workflows.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, direct, and evaluate production personnel and cross-functional teams to drive operational performance and growth.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or M.Sc.) is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in a supervisory or managerial role (e.g., Production Supervisor, Operations Manager, Plant Lead).

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean/Kaizen methodologies, and ERP/MRP software systems.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Demonstrated capability to guide cross-functional teams, manage performance, and drive organizational change.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving: Advanced troubleshooting ability to resolve complex production bottlenecks and workforce challenges.
  • Financial Acumen: Capability to analyze financial statements, manage plant operating budgets, and oversee P&L reports.
  • Communication: Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with floor personnel, executive leadership, and external suppliers.
