Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  3. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best possible pricing and service levels.
  4. Manage the procurement process from requisition through to purchase order issuance.
  5. Ensure that all purchases comply with organizational policies and legal regulations.
  6. Monitor inventory levels and forecast future supply needs to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  7. Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor performance, and inventory levels.

Qualification, Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Education:
    • A bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in supply chain management/material management, or a related field is typically required.
    • Must be registered with the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technician Board (PSPTB).
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of three years of experience in procurement.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
    • Excellent analytical skills for data interpretation and decision-making.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Familiarity with procurement software systems is advantageous.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in managing documentation.
