With estates in Ubena and Pangawe, we play a significant role in the regional and international fibre markets. We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Procurement & Logistic Officer to join our team in Dar es Salaam.
Position Summary:
The Procurement & Logistic Officer will play a key support role in the procurement of stores and spares from Ubena and Pangawe Estates and ensure the efficient and timely export of sisal products. This role involves liaising with clients, clearing and forwarding agents, and internal teams to ensure smooth procurement and export operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Duties:
- Coordinate procurement of spares and store requirements from Ubena and Pangawe Estates.
- Maintain up-to-date records of estate requests, approvals, and deliveries.
- Ensure timely placement of orders and follow-up with suppliers to meet operational timelines.
- Liaise with estate managers to forecast and plan procurement needs.
- Assist in sourcing quality and cost-effective products in compliance with company procurement policies.
Export Coordination:
- Ensure timely processing and documentation of sisal exports.
- Follow up with clients on order confirmations and shipping instructions.
- Coordinate with clearing and forwarding agents to ensure smooth shipment processes.
- Track the loading and dispatch progress and share regular updates within the relevant WhatsApp/communication groups.
- Verify export documentation (invoices, packing lists, customs forms) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Address and resolve any export delays or issues in coordination with logistics providers.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in procurement and/or export coordination.
- Knowledge of Tanzanian customs procedures and export documentation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with agricultural/industrial equipment and spare parts is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to coordinate across departments and external stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Self-driven, with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based in Dar es Salaam with occasional visits to Ubena and Pangawe Estates if needed.
- Standard working hours with flexibility required based on shipment schedules.
