What is Expected of You
As our Procurement Specialist (Vitamins & Minerals), you will lead the global sourcing and procurement of the micronutrients that are at the heart of Sanku's mission. This isn’t just a job; it’s an opportunity ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and quality-assured supply of vitamins, minerals, and specialty raw materials for our premix blending operations across East Africa. You’ll collaborate with a passionate team to deliver solutions that directly improve lives and accelerate our mission.
How You’ll Deliver Impact
- Lead the global sourcing of vitamins, minerals, carriers, and specialty raw materials by identifying, qualifying, negotiating with, and managing strategic suppliers while reducing supply risk.
- Convert production forecasts into procurement plans that ensure timely replenishment, optimal inventory levels, and uninterrupted supply to Sanku's blending facilities.
- Ensure all incoming raw materials meet Sanku's quality and regulatory standards by managing supplier qualification, technical documentation, laboratory verification, and food safety compliance.
- Negotiate supplier agreements and optimize total landed cost through market analysis, commercial negotiations, freight planning, and effective sourcing strategies.
- Support international procurement by coordinating supplier documentation, shipment readiness, and import compliance to ensure timely delivery into Tanzania and Ethiopia.
- Monitor supplier performance, market trends, pricing, and supply risks, implementing mitigation strategies to strengthen continuity of supply.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier data within ERP systems while providing procurement reporting and performance analysis.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to resolve issues, improve procurement processes, and support Sanku's growth.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years experience in international procurement of food-grade ingredients, with direct sourcing experience in vitamins, minerals, carriers, or specialty raw materials.
- Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Qualifications in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Nutrition are an advantage.
- Professional certification such as CIPS, CPSP, PSPTB, or another recognized procurement qualification is preferred.
- Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills with experience in supplier performance management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
- Strong understanding of international food safety, certification, and regulatory requirements, including FSSC 22000, ISO, HACCP, Certificates of Analysis, traceability standards, and experience working with food control and import regulatory authorities to ensure compliant sourcing.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones. Mandarin or Hindi is an added advantage.
