Job Summary
The Assistant Teacher will support the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, stimulating, and child-centred learning environment for pre-school learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering age-appropriate learning activities.
- Support children during classroom activities, play, meals, and transitions.
- Encourage children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
- Help prepare classroom learning materials and resources.
- Supervise children and maintain a safe classroom environment.
- Observe learners and communicate developmental or behavioural concerns to the lead teacher.
- Support classroom routines and maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Communicate professionally with teachers, parents, and school staff.
- Participate in school events and early-years activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Education, Childcare, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with pre-school or early-years children is preferred.
- Experience working within the British or American curriculum is required.
- Strong understanding of child-centred learning and early childhood development.
