JOB DETAILS:

Job Summary:

To dispense prescribed medications to patients and provide guidance on their correct usage. To ensure the pharmacy is stocked, clean, and organized.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receive and verify prescriptions from clinicians for accuracy and legality.
• Dispense medications correctly, labeling them with dosage, frequency, and expiry date.
• Provide clear instructions to patients on how to take medication and potential side effects.
• Maintain accurate dispensing records and inventories.
• Order and receive pharmaceutical supplies, ensuring proper storage conditions.
• Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or expiry of medicines.
• Counsel patients on adherence to medication regimens.
• Prepare simple extemporaneous preparations (where applicable).
• Ensure the pharmacy area is clean and complies with safety regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Certificate or Diploma in Pharmacy.
• Registration: Enrolled as a Dispenser with the Pharmacy Council.
• Experience: Practical experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting.
• Skills: Numerical accuracy, attention to detail, counseling skills.
