OPTOMETRIST

Job Summary

The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye-care services, including vision assessment, diagnosis and management of common eye conditions within professional scope, prescription of corrective lenses, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye and vision examinations.
• Assess visual acuity and identify refractive errors.
• Diagnose and manage common optometric conditions within professional scope.
• Prescribe spectacles and other appropriate vision-correction solutions.
• Perform relevant clinical tests and interpret findings.
• Identify patients requiring specialist ophthalmic care and make appropriate referrals.
• Educate patients on eye health, vision care, and preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Provide appropriate follow-up and monitor treatment outcomes.
• Maintain and properly use optometric equipment.
• Participate in community eye-health and screening activities where required.
• Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain professional, ethical, and patient-centred standards of care.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or recognised professional qualification in Optometry.
• Valid professional registration and practising licence.
• Previous clinical experience is an advantage.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and patient-counselling abilities.
• Compassionate, professional, and committed to quality eye care.
