About Bolt
Bolt is shaping a future where cities are built for people, not cars. What started as an ambitious project by a 19-year-old in 2013 has grown into a global mobility platform used by more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million driver and courier partners across 50 countries.
From ride-hailing and food delivery to scooters, e-bikes and car-sharing, Bolt helps people move through cities every day. Small, autonomous teams drive this work, combining the speed and ownership of a startup with the scale of a global technology company backed by more than €1 billion in funding.
And Bolt is just getting started.
Why join Bolt?
- Build the future of mobility and help transform how people live and move in cities.
- Tackle challenges at scale that span technology, operations, regulation and growth.
- Take real ownership early. Small, lean teams mean your decisions matter from day one, and you will learn fast alongside some of the best people in the industry.
- Join one of Europe’s leading technology companies, backed by world-class investors, including Sequoia.
About the role
As an Operations Specialist for Driver Growth, Planning and City Expansion, you will play a key role in launching and scaling secondary cities across Tanzania.
You will drive structured driver acquisition, lead city expansion initiatives and ensure a healthy balance between supply and demand. Working closely with local teams and cross-functional stakeholders—including Marketplace, Driver Engagement and Rider teams—you will translate data into clear action plans and help turn new cities into high-performing, sustainable marketplaces.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end driver acquisition funnel, from lead generation through activation and active driver performance.
- Leverage scout programmes, referrals and other acquisition channels to meet supply targets.
- Improve the onboarding experience through driver engagement centres, clinics and compliance processes.
- Monitor and improve activation quality and early retention metrics.
- Support expansion into new and secondary cities across Tanzania by developing and executing structured growth plans that ensure marketplace supply-and-demand balance.
- Run targeted initiatives to drive both driver activation and ride demand at the city level.
- Monitor, analyse and report on key performance metrics across driver growth and city performance.
- Translate data insights into prioritised execution plans.
- Collaborate with Marketplace, Driver Engagement and Rider teams to identify bottlenecks and improve overall market performance.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should have:
- Three to five years of experience in operations, logistics, mobility or marketplace businesses.
- Strong analytical skills, with hands-on experience using Excel or Google Sheets and performance dashboards.
- A proactive and structured approach, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.
- A strong execution mindset and the ability to balance fieldwork with analytical tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to collaborate with field teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- A strong interest in mobility, marketplace growth and solving real-world operational challenges.
- Experience working in Tanzania or similar markets, which will be considered an added advantage.
Why you will love working at Bolt
- Accelerate your professional growth through unique career opportunities.
- Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.
- Take care of your physical and mental health through Bolt’s wellness perks.
- Celebrate five years at Bolt with a one-month paid sabbatical to recharge.
- Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
- Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration through Bolt’s hybrid model, including at least 12 in-office days each month.
