Oceanland Hauliers Limited is inviting applications from motivated, passionate, and career-driven individuals seeking internship opportunities in the following departments:
OPERATIONS INTERN
- Support the Transport/Logistics Operations Department in coordinating daily fleet movements and ensuring timely deliveries.
- Trip Planning & Scheduling: Assist in creating daily dispatch schedules for drivers, ensuring optimal route planning to minimize fuel costs and delivery times.
- Fleet Tracking: Use GPS tracking systems to monitor truck movements in real-time and update the operations board with vehicle statuses (en route, loading, offloading, or breakdown).
- Communication: Act as the primary liaison between drivers, clients, and the dispatch office. Relay critical updates regarding traffic, delays, or mechanical issues.
- Documentation: Prepare and verify critical haulage documents, including waybills, delivery confirmations, and driver logbooks.
- Compliance: Ensure all trucks have valid permits, insurance, and roadworthiness certificates before dispatch.
- Issue Resolution: Log and report operational incidents (e.g., accidents, customer complaints, or loading delays) to the Operations Manager and track resolution progress.
- Performance Data: Collate driver performance data (fuel efficiency, on-time delivery rates) for weekly operational reviews.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment.
