ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Mining Site Manager to oversee the daily operations of our mining site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining activities while maintaining compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all mining operations at the site.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and mining regulations.
- Manage site personnel, contractors, and equipment to achieve production targets.
- Monitor production performance and prepare operational reports.
- Develop and implement operational plans, budgets, and work schedules.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of mining equipment.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the site and Mentor and develop site employees to improve performance and productivity.
- Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders when required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Geology, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in mining operations, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of mining legislation, occupational health and safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Registration with the relevant professional body is an added advantage.
