Geita Regional Referral Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Medical Doctor.

Responsibilities or duties,

• Perform all clinical duties related to mental health conditions at the hospital.
• Provide and coordinate health education and promote community health within the respective work area.
• Maintain statistics and submit them as directed in accordance with MTUHA requirements.
• Plan and evaluate mental health services within the respective work area.
• Develop and prepare strategies to improve the quality of services in the respective professional field.
• Prepare plans and budget estimates for mental health services.
• Participate in medical audits and quality improvement of mental health services.
• Perform any other duties related to his/her education, experience and skills as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications or requirements

• A degree in Psychiatry from a Government-recognized institution.
• Completion of internship.
• Registration from the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
• Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged 18 years or above and not exceeding 35 years.
• Must have completed Form Four education or higher.
• Must be the rightful owner of the academic and professional certificates submitted and must attach copies of the certificates to the application.
• Must be willing to volunteer in the respective work area.
• Must not have previously been convicted by a court of law for a criminal or disciplinary offence.
• Must have good conduct and character acceptable to the community.
• Must not have previously been employed by any Public Institution since completing his/her studies.
• Applicants whose professions require registration with their respective professional boards must attach registration certificates and valid licences.
