Job Summary:
The Medical Doctor is responsible for providing comprehensive primary and secondary healthcare services. This includes diagnosing and treating illnesses, managing patient care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: Examine patients, take medical histories, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to diagnose conditions.
- Treatment: Prescribe medications, administer treatments, and perform minor surgical procedures.
- Patient Management: Admit and discharge patients; conduct ward rounds and review patient progress.
- Emergency Response: Provide immediate care in emergency situations (e.g., trauma, cardiac arrest).
- Referrals: Refer complex cases to specialists or higher-level facilities as necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and medical reports.
- Public Health: Participate in health education and disease prevention programs.
- Supervision: Mentor and supervise junior medical staff and interns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MD).
- Valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council.
- Postgraduate training in a specific field is an added advantage.
Skills:
- Strong diagnostic and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent bedside manner and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-stress environment.
General Requirements

- Possess the required academic and professional qualifications for the respective position.
- Be registered with the relevant professional council or regulatory authority (where applicable).
- Hold a valid practicing license (where applicable).
- Hold a valid NIDA.
