Manufaa Media is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented communicator to join its team as a Media Monitoring & Business Development Support Intern.

This is a hybrid role spanning media monitoring and reporting, as well as business development support. The successful candidate will turn raw media coverage into clear, client-ready analysis and help the Business Development Lead keep pipelines, proposals, and follow-up activities moving.

Position: Media Monitoring & Business Development Support Intern

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Work arrangement: On-site

Reporting to: Business Development Lead

Key responsibilities

Media monitoring and reporting

  • Compile and analyse daily and weekly media monitoring reports across client accounts, covering print, broadcast, online, and social media.
  • Track coverage volume, tonality, share of voice, and Advertising Value Equivalent (AVE).
  • Draft clear, accurate, bilingual English and Swahili summaries and client-ready reports.
  • Maintain consistent reporting formats and meet weekly reporting deadlines.

Business development support

  • Support the Business Development Lead with proposal drafting, formatting, and follow-up communications.
  • Assist with client and sector research to strengthen pitch materials.
  • Coordinate meeting scheduling, prospect tracking, and follow-up documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date pipeline status inputs for weekly management reporting.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should possess the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Mass Media, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Swahili, as this is a language-driven role.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a genuine interest in media and current affairs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools will be an advantage.
  • At least one year of experience in public relations, media, communications, or business development support is preferred.
  • Strong entry-level candidates are also welcome to apply.
  • Good organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and comfort supporting more than one function at a time.
