Position Summary
To perform diagnostics, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of SINORAY’s logistics fleet, specifically focusing on heavy-duty trucks like SCANIA, MAN, HOWO, and associated transport assets. The role ensures maximum fleet availability, operational reliability, fuel efficiency, and compliance with SINORAY’s safety, quality, and vehicle maintenance standards.
KPAs (Key Performance Areas)
Engine & Powertrain Repair and Maintenance
- Conduct mechanical and electronic fault diagnostics on heavy-duty diesel engines.
- Perform routine servicing, minor repairs, and assist with engine component overhauls.
- Inspect, service, and maintain fuel systems, pumps, injectors, and turbochargers.
- Carry out preventive maintenance to maximize vehicle reliability and prevent breakdown delays.
- Diagnose engine performance issues, fault codes, and emissions system failures (e.g., AdBlue/SCR).
- Ensure all maintenance work adheres to manufacturer specifications (OEM) and SINORAY standards.
Transmission & Driveline Maintenance
- Perform technical diagnostics and maintenance on manual, automated, and automatic transmission systems used in heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
- Replace worn or defective clutch assemblies, universal joints, and drive shafts.
- Execute gear oil changes, filter replacements, and regular fluid inspections.
- Carry out basic adjustments, calibrations, and functional testing following drivetrain repairs.
- Assist with the removal and reinstallation of transmission units during major overhauls.
Fleet Brake, Suspension & Axle Systems
- Inspect, service, and repair pneumatic brake systems (ABS/EBS), brake pads, drums, and discs.
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on air suspension systems, shock absorbers, leaf springs, and steering components.
- Check and adjust wheel alignment, hub bearings, and tire wear patterns to ensure road safety.
Scheduled Preventive Maintenance & Inspections
- Carry out routine vehicle safety checks, oil changes, and multi-point fleet inspections.
- Identify early signs of mechanical failure to address issues before expensive repairs occur.
- Support rapid response for roadside breakdowns to minimize transport delays.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and vehicle service records.
Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE)
- Comply strictly with SINORAY’s HSSE policies, garage protocols, and safety procedures at all times.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), jacking/supporting guidelines, and risk assessments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workshop environment.
- Wear appropriate PPE and follow safe practices when handling oils, heavy equipment, and hazardous materials.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Fleet availability and vehicle uptime.
- On-time completion of preventive maintenance schedules.
- Breakdown response and repair resolution times.
- First-time fix rate (rework reduction).
- Compliance with workshop safety and clean-garage policies.
- Efficient utilization of spare parts and workshop resources.
Qualifications Required
- Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Heavy Vehicle class) is an added advantage.
- Certifications or specialized training on heavy-duty vehicles are desirable.
Experience and Skills Required
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in heavy commercial vehicle maintenance, specifically working on heavy-duty trucks like SCANIA, MAN, HOWO, or similar brands.
- Practical understanding of diesel engines, pneumatic braking systems, hydraulics, and driveline assemblies.
- Experience operating workshop equipment, hydraulic lifts, press tools, and diagnostic scanners.
