The Marketing Officer is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising all marketing initiatives for an ICT company specializing in the design and development of sector-focused digital solutions. The role requires structured market intelligence, strategic positioning, and disciplined execution of integrated marketing campaigns targeting public and private sector stakeholders across multiple industries.
Company Scope of Solutions
The company designs and deploys ICT systems for:
- Agricultural crop value chains (input distribution, aggregation, traceability, data management).
- Livestock and fisheries value chains.
- Horticultural value chains.
- Utility industry solutions.
- Government and private weighbridge management systems.
- Product traceability systems for crops, meat, and other commodities.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Market Intelligence and Opportunity Identification
- Conduct structured market research to identify potential customers, including government institutions, regulatory authorities, agribusiness firms, cooperatives, processors, exporters, logistics companies, and utility operators.
- Map stakeholders within each value chain and maintain a qualified prospect database.
- Analyze procurement pipelines, sector reforms, regulatory trends, and funding programs relevant to ICT adoption.
- Monitor competitor positioning, pricing structures, and solution gaps.
Strategic Marketing Planning
- Develop annual and quarterly marketing plans aligned with revenue targets.
- Segment customers by industry (agriculture, livestock, fisheries, horticulture, utilities, transport, government) and design tailored marketing strategies for each segment.
- Define value propositions for each product line, emphasizing operational efficiency, compliance, traceability, data accuracy, and cost optimization.
- Establish clear KPIs for campaigns, lead generation, conversion rates, and brand visibility.
Business Development Support
- Collaborate with the technical and sales teams to prepare proposals, concept notes, and tender submissions.
- Support government procurement processes, including prequalification documentation and compliance requirements.
- Organize and coordinate client presentations, solution demonstrations, and pilot engagements.
- Build strategic partnerships with industry associations, development partners, and technology collaborators.
Marketing Campaign Execution
- Design and implement targeted campaigns, including:
- Industry exhibitions and trade fairs.
- Sector-specific forums and conferences.
- Stakeholder workshops and roundtables.
- Executive meetings and technical briefings.
- Product launch events and live system demonstrations.
- Track campaign ROI and maintain structured post-event follow-up processes.
Digital Marketing and Brand Management
- Oversee development and maintenance of corporate website content.
- Ensure consistent publication of case studies, whitepapers, product briefs, and sector insights.
- Supervise social media presence (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, or relevant platforms) with a focus on professional audience engagement.
- Manage search engine optimization (SEO), paid campaigns, and analytics tracking.
- Ensure brand consistency across all digital and print materials.
Content Development
- Lead creation of high-quality marketing materials, including:
- Company profiles and capability statements.
- Brochures and technical product sheets.
- Sector-focused solution briefs.
- Client success stories and impact reports.
- Press releases and media communications.
- Ensure content communicates technical credibility and measurable value.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Develop long-term relationships with key decision-makers in ministries, regulatory agencies, agribusiness corporations, and industry bodies.
- Maintain a structured CRM system to track engagement history and pipeline status.
- Coordinate follow-ups and nurture leads through structured communication cycles.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly marketing performance reports.

- Recommend corrective actions based on performance analytics.
