Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for leading maintenance activities to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficient operation of depot facilities, gantry systems, equipment, and associated installations. The role involves planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, supervising maintenance teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Execution

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the reliability and availability of plant equipment, depot facilities, and associated installations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate equipment inspections and routine servicing.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor maintenance technicians and contractors.
  • Allocate maintenance tasks and monitor work performance.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team.

Equipment & Facility Management

  • Ensure proper maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose equipment faults and coordinate timely repairs.
  • Monitor the condition of critical assets and recommend replacement or refurbishment where necessary.
  • Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are properly utilized and maintained.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Enforce adherence to company maintenance procedures and engineering standards.
  • Conduct safety inspections and participate in incident investigations where required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare maintenance reports, equipment performance analyses, and downtime reports.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance operations.
  • Utilize maintenance management systems to track work orders and maintenance history.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Professional engineering registration or certification is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5–7 years' relevant maintenance engineering experience.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas or Manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience leading maintenance teams.
  • Experience using maintenance planning and scheduling systems; familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an added advantage.
