DSM Corridor Group Ltd is looking to recruit Madereva wa Malori in its Technical Department. Successful applicants will be responsible for driving large and small trucks while observing company procedures and safety standards.
Duties and responsibilities
- Safely transport containers and cargo between DCG company areas, the port, and customer locations in accordance with schedules and routes planned by the company.
- Conduct vehicle inspection before and after trips to ensure vehicle quality, cleanliness, and compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
- Ensure cargo and transport documents are complete, accurate, and comply with the relevant procedures.
- Load and offload cargo in cooperation with warehouse and port teams while ensuring cargo is protected against damage or loss.
- Ensure cargo is delivered on time and communicate with the transport unit or supervisor if delays, accidents, or route changes occur.
- Monitor fuel usage and provide mileage, fuel consumption, and defect reports to the supervisor.
- Submit proof of delivery of cargo (POD) together with relevant documents immediately after the trip is completed.
- Fully comply with road traffic laws, company safety policies, and driving ethics at all times.
- Report faults or technical problems to the maintenance unit immediately.
- Participate in vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure preventive services are carried out on time.
- Keep trip records, delivery reports, and accurate working time reports.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor, including operating other equipment such as Forklift, Wheel Loader, Excavator, and Bobcat when required.
Applicant qualifications
- Must have a valid Tanzanian driving licence – Class E and C.
- Must have 3–5 years of experience driving large trucks or container-carrying vehicles in the transport or cargo sector.
- Must have understanding of port operations and customs procedures.
- Defensive driving or road safety training will be an added advantage.
- Must have discipline, responsibility, and good timekeeping ability.
- Must have a driving certificate from a recognized institution.
- Education of at least Form Four is recommended.
- Must have a National Identification Card (NIDA) or NIDA number.
- Must be ready to work night shifts.
- Must be honest, self-managed, and personally responsible.
- Ability to operate equipment such as Forklift, Wheel Loader, Excavator, and Bobcat will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of maintenance of large vehicles or heavy equipment will increase the chance of being recruited.
Payment
The company will provide a competitive salary and benefits in accordance with labour laws. The employment contract is for one (1) year and may be extended depending on work performance.
