Job Purpose:
To install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical systems in a facility or production environment, combining cross-disciplinary skills to maximize equipment uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, pumps, conveyors, motors, switchgear, lighting, and control panels.
- Diagnose mechanical faults (bearings, belts, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics) and electrical faults (wiring, relays, sensors, VFDs).
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
- Use multimeters, megohmmeters, and diagnostic tools for electrical testing.
- Perform basic welding, pipe fitting, and alignment tasks as required.
- Log work orders and spare parts usage in CMMS.
- Comply with lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), safe isolation, and HSE procedures.
- Respond to breakdown calls during shifts or standby rosters.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Valid electrical license or competency card (depending on jurisdiction).
Experience:
- 3–5 years in an industrial or facilities maintenance role with both mechanical and electrical exposure.
- Experience with PLCs (basic troubleshooting), motors, and drives.
Competencies:
- Cross-disciplinary fault-finding mindset.
- Physical fitness (lifting, climbing, confined spaces).
- Team player with good communication.
