The company is currently seeking an experienced and results-oriented Local Sales Manager to join its team in Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving market development activities, expanding sales channels, managing key customer and distributor relationships, leading the local sales team, and implementing effective sales strategies to increase market share and business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall market development activities across Tanzania.
  • Expand and strengthen sales channels and distribution networks.
  • Maintain strong relationships with distributors and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage relationships with large-scale farming clients.
  • Promote company products and increase market penetration.
  • Develop regional sales plans aligned with annual sales targets.
  • Implement market operations including product stocking, inventory planning, customer visits, field demonstration trials, promotional campaigns, and marketing events.
  • Oversee the complete order management process.
  • Monitor and manage product pricing strategies.
  • Maintain healthy market order and effective distribution practices.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and gather market intelligence.
  • Follow up on customer payments and accounts receivable collections.
  • Lead, supervise, motivate, and develop the local sales team.
  • Conduct daily coaching sessions and product training programs.
  • Organize and participate in field visits and market surveys.
  • Support business negotiations and strategic partnership initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales performance and brand visibility.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in agrochemical sales within the Tanzanian market.
  • Strong understanding of crop diseases, pests, agrochemical products, and their applications.
  • Knowledge of sales and distribution channels, distributor management systems, and large-scale farming operations.
  • Fluency in both English and Swahili.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to independently develop and maintain customer accounts.
  • In-depth knowledge of Tanzania’s agrochemical market, competitor products, pricing structures, and distribution models.
  • Ability to design and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Results-driven and capable of working under pressure to achieve sales targets.
  • Strong industry contacts within Tanzania’s agricultural sector.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Tanzania, including rural farming areas.
