Job Summary

The Loan Officer Supervisor is responsible for underwriting, originating, closing, and monitoring MoneyMax’s loan portfolio.

The role supports the organization’s loan production goals, ensures compliance with lending and portfolio management policies, and minimizes legal and financial risks. The position works closely with the Managing Director, Financial Services Consultant, Loan Committee, and external lenders or service providers to support MoneyMax’s mission, operations, and growth potential.

Essential Job Functions

The Loan Officer Supervisor will:

  • Respond to loan and technical assistance inquiries in a timely, responsive, and respectful manner.
  • Maintain ongoing client relationships and communicate with clients about loans, technical assistance, and the marketing of other products or services.
  • Conduct due diligence and detailed financial analysis of financial requests.
  • Prepare credit memorandums and recommendations in accordance with established loan policies and programme guidelines.
  • Coordinate and conduct timely loan closings, including:
    • Negotiating loan terms.
    • Preparing commitment letters.
    • Reviewing due diligence requirements.
    • Ordering and reviewing loan documents.
    • Coordinating loan disbursements.
  • Maintain credit quality by:
    • Monitoring borrowers’ compliance with loan covenants and repayment requirements.
    • Analysing financial statements and other borrower reports.
    • Conducting site visits and collateral inspections when necessary.
    • Performing risk ratings in accordance with MoneyMax’s established loan policies.
  • Uphold portfolio quality through the receipt of payments and deposits, charge-offs, and recovery activities as required to minimize losses.
  • Maintain borrowers’ loan and financial information for impact tracking, MoneyMax reporting and ratio compliance, and loan-file audits or reviews by internal and external staff.
  • Make recommendations concerning the development of lending policies, report portfolio performance to the Management Board, and attend Loan Committee meetings when required.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships on behalf of MoneyMax with:
    • Banks and credit unions.
    • Tribal organizations.
    • Federal government agencies.
    • Foundations.
    • Community partners.
    • Public and private organizations.
  • Meet regularly with the Managing Director and prepare reports as requested.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences considered necessary to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Perform any other job-related duties assigned by the Managing Director.

Signatory Authority

The Loan Officer Supervisor is authorized to initiate and sign credit memorandums for loans.

Access to Sensitive Areas

The position provides access to:

  • Loan files.
  • MoneyMax storage facilities for filing purposes.
  • Electronic platforms required to perform assigned job functions.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Microfinance, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Between one and three years of experience in business, finance, banking, or lending.
  • A demonstrated record of relationship development and management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare:
    • Financial reports.
    • Performance reports.
    • Executive summaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and financial software.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check, including a credit report.
  • Willingness to provide a police clearance certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates should possess the following competencies in addition to the minimum qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with tribal, federal, state, regional, and local agencies or organizations.
  • Ability to work effectively with community leaders and members of the general public.
  • Exemplary customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work with people from varied backgrounds.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is TZS 600,000–TZS 700,000. Final compensation will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s experience and educational background.
