Position: Light Truck Drivers
Company: Riha Company Limited
Location: Geita Region (project site)
Number of positions: Five (5)
Position summary
The Light Truck Drivers will be responsible for safely operating company trucks to transport materials, primarily sand, from designated locations to Geita Gold Mine Limited project sites.
Successful candidates must ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company regulations.
Qualifications and requirements
Applicants must have:
- A valid Tanzanian Class C or E driving licence in good standing, with no less than two years remaining before its expiry date.
- A Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) – Form Four, with at least four passes.
- An HGV certificate.
- An approval and verification letter from the Police.
- A Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) certificate in driving.
- At least three years of practical experience driving light trucks, especially tipper trucks such as Howo, Shacman, FAW, and Hongvan.
- A clean driving record with no history of serious traffic violations or accidents.
- A good understanding of road safety regulations and vehicle inspection procedures.
- The physical fitness required to handle long-distance trips and work in remote environments.
- The ability to communicate in Kiswahili. Basic English communication skills will be an added advantage.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Operating light trucks to transport sand and related materials to designated locations.
- Inspecting vehicles before and after trips and reporting any mechanical issues.
- Maintaining vehicle cleanliness, proper documentation, and logbooks.
- Following all company safety rules, environmental guidelines, and procedures.
- Cooperating with project supervisors, loading crews, and site coordinators.
- Promptly reporting any incidents or delays.
