Duties and Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, repairs and services light-current systems and equipment.
• Assists in installation and maintenance of security, access control, fire alarm, public address, intercom and other low-voltage systems, as applicable.
• Assists in testing and troubleshooting light-current systems and identifies faults.
• Carries out replacement and repair of defective cables, devices, sensors, switches and other components.
• Performs routine inspection and testing of light-current installations.
• Assists in installation, termination and testing of low-voltage cables and associated equipment.
• Maintains tools, testing instruments and equipment used for light-current works.
• Observes electrical safety, occupational health and safety requirements.
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Holder of Secondary Education Certificate and at least VETA Trade Test II/National Vocational Award Level II or Certificate of Competence Level II in Electronics or another relevant trade qualification from a recognized vocational training institution.
