Job summary

The Legal Intern will focus on assisting legal department in all aspects and ensure the Institution is defended from litigation risk and other related risks.

Essential duties

1.Attending court session/filing of pleadings in court

  • Draft pleadings for all credit-related cases instituted against or for the bank.
  • File pleadings in respect of credit-related cases instituted for or against the bank.
  • Attend court sessions and record court proceedings in all cases in various courts against the Bank.
  • Conduct research on legal matters.
  • Follow up on all official matters with courts and tribunals.
  • Giving opinion on court matters.
  • Give legal advice on legal matters.
  • Preparation, Updating, and maintain case register in respect of incoming cases, and closed cases

2. Registration of security documents

  • To draft documents related to mortgage
  • Preparation, Updating, and maintain collateral registration register.

3. Police Cases/Fraud

  • Report cases to the police and collect necessary documentation in support of these cases.
  • Follow up/attend criminal cases, liaise with the external lawyers in preparing witnesses and evidence required.
  • Follow up on all pending police cases.
  • Other tasks may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in law.
  • Must be outgoing, energetic and able to work in courts.
  • Legal practice experience is necessary.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Work comfortably for up to 8 hours a day
