Educational/Professional Qualifications: –

i. The Topographical Surveyor shall be a holder of atleast a Diploma in Land Surveying;
ii. He/she must have at least three (3) years of specific experience in road design and construction related to land surveying activities;
iii. He/she must have served as a Surveyor on at least two (2) projects of similar magnitude and complexity within the last five (5) years; and
iv. Knowledge in computer applications and fluency in written and spoken English are mandatory.

Duties and Responsibilities: –

i. The Surveyor shall be fully responsible for conducting and supervising the survey team;
ii. He/she will be responsible for planning of the fieldwork, establish and/or confirm all control points;
iii. Perform topographical surveys both pre and post construction, and establish survey control plans for GPS and LPS equipment automation;
iv. Responsible for primary layout of all elements of the works to be performed included but not limited to pipe/drainage systems, structures, pavements and earthworks;
v. Lead others in the survey work, keep good daily written records of all performed works and provide calculations and records in support of all survey activities;
vi. Inspection to ensure that proper compliance with construction specifications is adhered to. Review construction design to ensure proper quantities dimensions and overall completeness;
vii. He/She shall be responsible for searching legal records, look for evidence of previous references survey points (geodetic reference point and national benchmarks) and analyses the data to determine the location of boundary lines and record the results of the survey, verify the accuracy of data, and prepare plans, maps and reports; and
viii. He/She should have the ability to read and interpret project specifications.
ix. He/She should be capable to supervise basic earthworks activities.
