Laboratory Technologist

Job Description:
The Laboratory Technologist will perform laboratory investigations to support accurate diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients. The position involves collecting and processing specimens, conducting laboratory tests, maintaining equipment, recording results, and ensuring compliance with laboratory quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, receive, label, and process patient specimens.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests within the scope of practice.
• Analyse specimens and accurately record laboratory results.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of specimens.
• Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Conduct quality-control procedures to ensure reliable results.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Observe laboratory safety and infection-control procedures.
• Communicate critical or abnormal results promptly to the relevant healthcare professionals.
