Responsibilities

The Junior Technical Officer will:

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of technical equipment.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to minimize risks.
  • Ensure quality standards are met in production and operational processes.
  • Document maintenance activities, equipment modifications, and operational challenges.
  • Develop process improvements using engineering principles and software tools.
  • Conduct material planning and coordinate with the procurement team on resource allocation.
  • Contribute to sustainable engineering initiatives that are environmentally friendly and safe.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications and skills

Candidates should bring the following to the role:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, QA/QC, or a STEM-related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail when troubleshooting technical issues.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and process improvement.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and adapt to different engineering, technical, and operational roles.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili.
