In Tanzania and across the region, GIZ supports the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the EAC in attaining their development goals. GIZ is seeking to recruit national personnel to support the finance team of its Service Unit in Tanzania.Booking Historical Guided Tours
The Junior Finance Specialist will work closely with the Finance Manager within the Service Unit in Dar es Salaam. The position offers the opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in financial management and to gradually take on increased responsibilities within the finance function.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Supporting local projects with their financial planning, monitoring costs and expenditure with SAP S/4HANA.
- Preparation of project financial reports in line with the requirements of different international donors.
- Preparation and follow-up of internal and external controls.
- Drafting of budgets for new projects or related to project extensions.
- Providing financial information to the Head of Service Unit in Tanzania (HoSu) related to requests or on a pre-scheduled basis on time.
- Quality assessment of administrative functions and regular exchange with HoSu and other Finance Managers of the Service Unit to improve quality and to harmonize/standardize processes.
- Close exchange with other Finance Managers in Tanzania and in other countries in East Africa.
- Performs other duties and tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- University degree in Business Administration or comparable qualification.
- Excellent knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel.
- First experience with a Big 4 audit company or with controlling of big international companies is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English.
