The company is currently inviting qualified and motivated candidates to apply for the position of Junior Accountant based in Dar es Salaam. This opportunity is suitable for accounting and finance professionals with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and practical experience in accounting operations, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with reporting and compliance activities. The role involves handling invoices, reconciliations, payroll support, audit preparation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Processing supplier invoices and employee reimbursement claims accurately and timely
  • Preparing customer invoices and following up on outstanding receivables
  • Performing bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting financial documentation
  • Assisting with monthly payroll processing and statutory filing requirements
  • Supporting month-end and year-end financial closing activities
  • Assisting during internal and external audit processes
  • Preparing financial reports, schedules, and supporting accounting documents as required
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory regulations
  • Performing additional accounting and finance-related duties assigned by supervisors

The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced business environment. Applicants are expected to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and the ability to manage multiple accounting tasks efficiently while maintaining high levels of accuracy.

Qualifications and Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
  • CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification in progress will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or related field
  • Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
  • Experience in bank reconciliations and General Ledger postings
  • Experience using accounting software such as SAP, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Sage, or other ERP systems
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively within teams and support multiple business units
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to continuous professional development
