Job Summary
The Integrated IT and Communications Officer will be responsible for managing the organization's Information Technology (IT) systems while leading all internal and external communication, public relations, branding, and digital media activities. The successful candidate will ensure efficient ICT operations, maintain the organization's online presence, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and promote a positive corporate image.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Information Technology (IT)
- Manage and maintain the organization's computer systems, networks, servers, internet connectivity, and ICT infrastructure.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware, software, printers, and other ICT equipment.
- Provide technical support and user training to staff.
- Maintain data security, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Administer organizational email systems and user accounts.
- Manage the organization's website, ensuring that information is accurate, secure, and regularly updated.
- Recommend and implement new technologies that improve operational efficiency.
Communications and Public Relations
- Develop and implement the organization's communication and public relations strategies.
- Prepare press releases, newsletters, speeches, brochures, and other communication materials.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with media houses, government agencies, development partners, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and public events.
- Respond to public and media inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Protect and promote the organization's corporate image and reputation.
Digital Media and Branding
- Manage all organizational social media platforms.
- Create, edit, and publish engaging digital content, including graphics, photos, and videos.
- Monitor online engagement and prepare periodic analytics reports.
- Ensure consistency of the organization's branding across all communication channels.
- Develop awareness campaigns to increase the visibility of the organization and its programs.
General Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on ICT and communication activities.
- Support the organization during meetings, workshops, conferences, and public events.
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management within the scope of the position.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Public Relations, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience in IT, communications, or public relations.
- Experience in website management, social media management, graphic design, and content creation is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Strong public relations and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
