1. Background
The Norwegian Association of Disabled (NAD) is an independent human rights organization of persons with disabilities. Our vision is a society for all, where NAD has head office in Oslo, Norway and interests. Over the next five years, NAD will be country lead for the Tanzania Country Programme, which includes 5 Organizations, that will implement the project called Collective Action for Disability Rights (CADiR).
Inclusive Education and CBID Coordinator
Location: Zanzibar
In this position you are expected to travel to the mainland (Mostly Dar-es-salaam and Dodoma) at least 4 times a year. The frequency can vary as the project develops.
Reports to: Country Director
2.2.1 Role and Responsibilities
- Lead NAD’s Technical Support in Community-Based Inclusive Development (CBID): To strengthen CBID cross-partner learning and reflection. Representing Zanzibar in NAD’s global CBID Working Group to inform wider program development.
- Guide Inclusive Education (IE) Practice and System Engagement: To support partners in implementing adaptation and quality alignment with national goals.
- Develop NAD’s Emerging Thematic Work in Inclusive Accommodation (RA): To lead technical learning in IECD and RA, exploring integration into existing interventions.
2.2.2 Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, social work, social sciences, law, project management, or another relevant field.
- Experience in delivering, coordinating or managing training.
- Familiarity with IE, CBID, and interest in IECD and RA.
- Experience engaging with government systems and academic institutions is an advantage.
2.2.3 Skills, Abilities and Attitudes
- Strong technical understanding of disability inclusion, inclusive education, and CBID.
- Excellent facilitation and training delivery skills across diverse audiences.
- Strategic and analytical thinking with ability to lead learning processes and innovation.
- Skilled communicator, both verbal and written—able to contribute to reports, analysis, and documentation. Fluent in both English and Kiswahili.
- A commitment to accountability, trust and inclusion.
- Open to travel across Tanzania and adaptable to changing field conditions.
