Background

Through its Digibank and Fintech division, the company delivers large-scale digital financial services, core banking systems, and cloud-based infrastructure solutions across multiple African markets. As part of its ongoing technology modernization and enterprise architecture transformation, Axian Group is seeking to recruit a highly experienced professional for the position of IT Solution Architect – Infra.

The IT Solution Architect – Infra will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and supporting end-to-end technology solutions across digital financial services and enterprise infrastructure environments. The role requires deep expertise in solution architecture, cloud computing, core banking systems, fintech platforms, and large-scale infrastructure design in multi-market environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Designing end-to-end technology solutions for new initiatives and system enhancements across core wallet platforms, core banking systems, payment systems, lending management systems, card systems, agent and merchant management systems, KYC/AML systems, fraud management systems, mobile applications, USSD platforms, APIs, and data platforms.
• Owning solution design for system deployments, upgrades, and platform swaps, including data models, integration architecture, and migration architecture.
• Designing hybrid and cloud-based deployments for Digibank and Fintech workloads across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and on-premise environments.
• Ensuring deployments include appropriate architectural components such as landing zones, network segmentation, identity and access controls, and governance structures.
• Embedding security-by-design principles across all solutions, including identity and access management, encryption in transit and at rest, key management, secrets handling, and zero-trust security models where applicable.
• Contributing to Architecture Review Boards and enterprise design authority forums.
• Reviewing, approving, or rejecting solution designs based on established architectural standards and governance frameworks.
• Partnering with Product, Engineering, Security, Data, Risk, and Business teams to translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.

Qualification and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in solution architecture, banking platforms, cloud infrastructure, and multi-market enterprise technology environments.
• Experience working across African markets, preferably in multi-country operational environments.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and operational requirements within financial services and telecommunications sectors.
• Proven ability to design, review, and support end-to-end solutions for digital financial services ecosystems.
• Proficiency in designing solutions for core wallet systems, core banking systems, payments platforms, lending systems, card systems, agent networks, KYC/AML systems, fraud detection systems, mobile applications, USSD, APIs, and data platforms.
• Expertise in hybrid and cloud architecture design across AWS, Azure, and on-premise infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of security-by-design principles, including identity management, encryption, key management, secrets management, and zero-trust architecture.
• Experience participating in architecture governance forums and design review boards.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, security, risk, data, and business units.
