Job Summary

Mufindi Paper is hiring a skilled Heavy Commercial Truck Mechanic for the Kasulu Sugar Project in Tanzania. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles, and complex pneumatic/hydraulic systems to maintain fleet reliability and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnostic & Troubleshooting: Use computerized diagnostic tools and manual troubleshooting to identify engine, transmission, electrical, and mechanical faults.
• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine scheduled inspections, oil changes, fluid checks, and tune-ups to extend vehicle life and prevent road breakdowns.
• Major Component Repairs: Repair or overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, steering components, and suspension systems.
• Air Brake & Pneumatic Systems: Inspect, service, and repair complex air brake systems, valves, and pneumatic lines.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all repaired vehicles meet stringent safety and roadworthiness standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 7+ years of proven hands-on experience as a heavy-duty truck or commercial vehicle mechanic.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of heavy diesel engines, air brake systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic controls.
• Core Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
