Quality Health Safety and Environment (QHSE)- Administrator

Responsibilities or duties

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • QHSE coordination and governance: Coordinate QHSE activities within the CFS, including health and safety committee administration, fire marshal and first aider coordination, meeting documentation, action tracking and communication of QHSE matters to relevant teams.
  • Operational safety visibility : Maintain regular visibility across warehouses, yard operations, cargo handling, stuffing and destuffing areas, weighbridge, dispatch points and traffic routes to promote safe operations through toolbox talks, site walkabouts and behaviour-based safety engagement.
  • Risk assessment and inspections : Support preparation, review and closure of risk assessments, workplace inspections, equipment safety checks, emergency readiness checks and corrective action plans for CFS activities including cargo handling, storage, segregation, lifting equipment movement and truck access.
  • Incident and non-conformity management: Assist in reporting, investigating and tracking incidents, near misses, damages, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, customer complaints and process non-conformities, ensuring root causes and corrective actions are documented and followed to closure.
  • QHSE data and reporting: Support the preparation and tracking of QHSE statutory plans, licences, certificates, medicals. emergency drills, environmental requirements and regulatory inspections in liaison with relevant government bodies and appointed service providers.
  • IMS and document control : Support the Integrated Management System by maintaining registers, controlled documents, audit evidence and records aligned to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements, and assist in internal audits and management review preparation.
  • Training and awareness: Identify QHSE training needs, organise internal awareness sessions, coordinate external training for emergency teams and maintain training records for fire marshals, first aiders, safety committee members and operational teams.
  • Supplier and contractor safety:Coordinate supplier, contractor and transporter QHSE onboarding, workplace inspections, PPE compliance, annual supplier safety reviews and implementation of agreed QHSE procedures within the CFS environment.
  • Continuous improvement: Propose practical improvements to reduce operational risk, improve housekeeping, strengthen emergency preparedness, improve compliance close-out and support a positive safety culture within the CFS.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Practical experience supporting QHSE activities in logistics, transport, warehousing, CFS, port, terminal, cargo handling or similar operational environment.
  • Understanding of risk assessment, incident reporting, inspection routines, emergency preparedness, PPE requirements, statutory compliance and document control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, report preparation, records management, action tracking and basic data analysis.
  • Strong communication, follow-up, teamwork, attention to detail, assertiveness, problem solving and ability to influence safe behaviour.
