The Head of Sales position is a senior leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, developing sales strategies, managing key client relationships, and leading the sales team to achieve organizational goals. The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding the company’s market presence, securing new business opportunities, and strengthening partnerships within the tourism, hospitality, and events sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to achieve company revenue targets
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across tourism, hospitality, and events industries
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and strategic partners
  • Expand the company’s customer base and market presence
  • Lead, supervise, motivate, and mentor the sales team to maximize performance
  • Set sales objectives and monitor team achievements against targets
  • Provide training and professional development support to sales staff
  • Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities
  • Analyze market data to identify growth opportunities and inform business decisions
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates for management
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business growth and customer satisfaction
  • Represent the company in business meetings, networking events, and industry engagements

Qualifications required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and leading a sales team
  • Proven experience in sales management, business development, or client relationship management
  • Strong negotiation and persuasive communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in both English and Swahili is mandatory
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
  • Ability to identify and capitalize on business growth opportunities
  • Excellent organizational and reporting skills
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to meet sales targets
