Role Overview

AzamPesa is seeking an agile and experienced Head of Human Resources to serve as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team. In this role, you will shape and drive the company’s people strategy, talent acquisition, and organizational culture in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive people strategy, systems, and policies to support organizational growth.
  • Coordinate all core HR functions to ensure efficiency across the employee lifecycle.
  • Drive culture initiatives and employee engagement programs that foster a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition, succession planning, and employer branding.
  • Ensure full compliance with all labour laws, employment regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Design and manage competitive remuneration, benefits, and reward frameworks.
  • Champion company-wide learning and development programs.
  • Develop, evaluate, and optimize performance management systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree, such as an MBA or MSc in Human Resources or Organizational Development, is an added advantage.
  • Active membership or certification with a Human Resources Management Association or other relevant professional body is an added advantage.

Professional Experience

  • 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in a senior HR management or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience working within fast-paced industries such as fintech, telecommunications, financial services, or banking in Tanzania.
  • Deep knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws, statutory mandates, and regulatory frameworks.
