Background

Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is a diaconal organization mandated by churches and Christian organizations in Norway to work with people around the world to eradicate poverty and injustice.

In Tanzania, NCA partners with Faith-Based Organizations to uphold human dignity, promote human rights, and support marginalized communities in their pursuit of economic and social justice. Role Summary

The GBV Program Officer will support the effective implementation, coordination, and monitoring of GBV interventions in Tanzania, working closely with partners to ensure quality delivery, documentation, and reporting of programme activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and tracking of GBV programme activities and work plans
  • Collect, compile and analyse programme data and reports.
  • Coordinate with partners and support meetings and action tracking.
  • Provide logistical support for trainings, workshops and field missions.
  • Contribute to proposal development and programme documentation.

Qualifications and Working Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, Human Rights, or a related field.
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant professional experience in GBV programs
  • Experience working with NGOs or INGOs is an advantage.
  • Experience in programme implementation, coordination, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with donor-funded projects is desirable.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of GBV concepts, protection principles, and survivor-centered approaches.
  • Knowledge of national GBV frameworks and referral pathways in Tanzania.
  • Basic skills in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL).
  • Strong report writing and data analysis skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality principles
