Position purpose

Provide leadership and direction for the Finance functions across AUMS Geofields Tanzania Limited Operations and Administration.

Manage the financial, tax, statutory, accounting and administration functions for Tanzania in compliance with local & Australian law and in accordance with corporate regulations/requirements.

Responsibilities or duties

Key Accountabilities

• Preparation of month end financial reporting
• General ledger reconciliation and maintenance
• Timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversee accounts payable functions to ensure timely payments of reconciled balances to suppliers
• Oversee accounts receivable functions
• Reconciliation of intercompany and external suppliers
• Review and submission of tax filings (VAT, withholding taxes, PAYE, etc)
• Audits – half yearly, annually and various Government audits
• Cashflow and working capital management
• Day to day supervision of all accounting, finance, taxation, accounts payable, payroll
• Supervision and training of Tanzania accounting personnel
• Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Your personal presentation, behaviour and conduct meet or exceed company requirements.

Key Functions

The key functions of a Financial Controller will include but not be limited to:

• Ensure the precise up keeping of records for all accounts
• Ensure accounts personnel are working to correct work ethics and carrying out their duties as required by AUMS Geofields Tanzania Limited.
• Control of the account’s functions.
• Ensure reporting functions are completed within the stipulated timeline
• Effective Communication.

Effective Communication

• Communicate effectively with all colleagues.
• Communicate with the client effectively and in a professional manner when required.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with the Management team.
• Contribute as a valued team member and demonstrate commitment to common goals and targets of the Company.

Key performance indicators

• Demonstrated work ethic.
• Ability to meet or exceed set KPI targets for delivery of reports to Management
• Attendance and fitness for work compliance with AUMS Geofields Tanzania Limited guidelines.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Qualifications

• Advanced tertiary qualifications with CPA or international recognized accounting certification.
• Must pass AUMS Geofields Tanzania Limited pre-employment medical
• Must pass police and security checks

Experience needed

• At least five years’ experience in a similar accountancy role
