Personal Characteristics
Commitment & Drive for Results:
You have values and personal ambitions that are aligned with FSD Tanzania's goals to improve livelihoods, wellbeing, resilience and empowerment of Tanzanian women and youth. This commitment is exemplified by reliably delivering work assignments, on time and to standard, and being willing to put in 'extra mile' effort if it's needed to achieve an important goal. You have a track record of the highest standards of ethical behaviour, upholding the spirit as well as the letter of the law.

Initiative & Decisiveness
You have a strong sense of ownership: taking personal responsibility for whatever work you have been allocated and seeking to achieve the best possible outcomes. You are proactive in seeking out information or resources that are necessary for success, and you're able to overcome the usual problems or obstacles that are experienced in day-to-day work. You have a reputation for getting things done, without needing to be pushed or reminded; and you can make appropriate decisions within the scope of your role.

Learning & Innovation
You are committed to developing your skills and knowledge, always seeking to enhance your personal contribution; this is demonstrated by your positive response to advice and feedback. You are willing to tackle a challenging situation where you may not have all the answers, taking initiative to learn whatever is necessary for success. You have a track record of flexibility - adapting promptly to changes in circumstances and contributing your own ideas to improve ways of working or enhance the achievement of goals.

Relationship Building
You take an interest in other people and you're sensitive to their needs and concerns; you listen well and are genuinely interested in hearing and understanding someone else's point of view. You have a track record of collaborating well with colleagues and clients; others trust you to contribute to the team effort, and to treat people with respect.

Communication & Influencing
You understand the potential impact that your behaviour can have on others - you are 'self-aware'. This means you can read a social situation correctly and have the self-control to adapt your behaviour to fit in, or achieve good outcomes. You can anticipate the needs of others and you're thoughtful about providing assistance or passing on useful information. You're also able to discern when to withhold information because it is personal, private, potentially embarrassing, or confidential

Thought Leadership

You take initiative to ask questions, and gather any information that is required to properly understand a given task. You are able to meaningfully apply knowledge that you learned in another setting to the task at hand. You have a reputation for being knowledgeable and well informed; you can organise information or data effectively and draw logical conclusions from it, readily sharing your insights with others.

Resilience & Resourcefulness
You manage emotional reactions well, remaining effective and professional despite experiencing ‘difficult’ feelings (e.g., disappointment, frustration, anxiety, stress). You're able to ‘bounce back’ in the face of setbacks, failures, or disagreements - you develop an alternative approach and have another go. If a situation demands it, you are also able to say ‘no’ and seek options for how the needs of the other person can still be met; you are able to politely set appropriate limits and boundaries, to manage your workload, or to do the right thing.
