Overview

Field Facilitators - 3 positions

Description

  • Assist in project coordination between farmers, extension and BioSSA researchers with the assigned cluster.
  • Assist with layout, planting and management of the trails
  • Collect plant and soil data from established trials.
  • Keep proper records of demonstration plots and the recorded data.
  • Submit weekly report on the demonstration trials to BioSSA scientists.
  • Arrange field visits to the demonstration trials as directed by BioSSA project Coordinator
  • Train farmers in proper handling and application of effective bio-input products.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by project management.

Requirements

The candidate should have a Diploma in Agriculture with specialization on crops research and management.

Core Competencies

  • Relevant work experience in agricultural research of at least 3 years.
  • Good understanding of the maize and beans cropping system in Tanzania.
  • Ability to work with and maintain a good relationship with famers.
  • A good Knowledge of farming systems in Siha District
  • Be a good team player and highly self-motivated.
