Founded in 2001, the Institute advances the vision of its founder Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE by continuing chimpanzee research and inspiring communities to conserve the natural world we all share. Job Vacancy Field Assistant Bombe National JOB non-governmental ANNOUNCEMENT Field Station: Bombe National Park, Kigoma Station

Job summary

Collection of field data related to long-term study of chimpanzees continue well as planned at field sites of Gombe National Park.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

Main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Carry out data collection (B Record) of Chimpanzees while ensuring during the collected data is accurate at all times.
  • Actively learn the identity of all chimpanzees.
  • Collect their fecal samples as directed by your supervisor.
  • Demonstrator willingness to learn and use required technological devices i.e. Tablet, in good working condition.
  • Provide support to Research Students when required.
  • Maintain good relationship with TANAPA Staff, Community and Co-workers.
  • Carry out any other work as required by the Director of Research.

Minimum Job Qualifications and other Requirements

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in wildlife management, animal sciences, biology or any other related field from a most recent Curriculum from a reputable university.
  • At least three years of wildlife working experience in the field.
  • Experience in report writing and a good team player.
  • Word and excel in basic computer applications (Ms).
  • Fluent in both English and Swahili languages.
  • Ready to apply and work in the remote areas and work in the field.
