TECIC Tanzania Ltd (Telecommunications & Fiber Optic Network Infrastructure) is seeking to fill 15 vacancies for Fiber Splicing Professionals. This is a full-time position based in Tanzania, with projects nationwide. The roles range from Entry Level to Senior/Expert Level, covering various aspects of fiber optic network infrastructure.

Available Positions & Core Roles

Senior / Master Splicers (25C–216C): Oversee large-core optical fiber fusion splicing, main trunk line integration, multi-core fiber management, and complex cable jointing procedures across major network backbones.

Fiber Splicers (1C–96C): Execute mid-to-small core fiber fusion splicing, distribution network connections, terminal box wiring, drop cable terminations, and routine line maintenance.

OTDR / Test Engineers: Perform comprehensive fiber optic testing utilizing Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (OTDR), insertion loss testing (LSPM), chromatic dispersion analysis, fault localization, and final link budget verification.

QA / QC Inspectors: Audit fiber splicing quality, inspect joint closures, ensure compliance with civil telecom standards, conduct enclosure air-tightness tests, and review final field test documentation.

Junior Splicing Assistants: Assist senior technical leads in cable preparation, fiber stripping, cleaving, tray management, tool maintenance, and site safety setup.

Trainees (Entry-Level): Open to motivated individuals seeking a career in telecommunications. Hands-on technical training, mentorship, and practical site experience will be provided.

General Qualifications & Experience Requirements

Senior / Master Splicers & Engineers: Relevant diploma or degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, ICT, or related technical field with demonstrated experience in high-core fiber splicing (up to 216C) and OTDR analysis.

Fiber Splicers & Assistants: Vocational training (VETA), certificate, or practical field experience in fiber optics, network cablings, or electrical installation.

Trainees: Basic technical aptitude, strong willingness to learn, and passion for building Tanzania’s digital infrastructure (no prior splicing experience required).

Key Skills: High dexterity, keen attention to detail, ability to read network layout diagrams, field troubleshooting capabilities, and readiness for field travel across Tanzania.
