Job Overview:

The Farm Operations Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating all farm activities to ensure efficient and productive operations. The role involves leading day-to-day farm management, coordinating planting and harvesting schedules, overseeing staff performance, managing farm finances, and maintaining relationships with suppliers and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall farm operations to achieve production and quality targets.
  • Plan and supervise planting, cultivation, and harvesting activities.
  • Hire, train, and oversee farm personnel and casual workers.
  • Prepare work schedules and allocate resources effectively.
  • Monitor crop growth, yields, and ensure optimal use of land and resources.
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial and production records.
  • Implement sustainable farming practices and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and partners.
  • Identify challenges in farm operations and recommend practical solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing a farm, preferably in cereal, horticulture, or potato production.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of modern farming techniques and sustainable agricultural practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Good financial and record-keeping skills.
