Job Description

Join TUI Hotels & Resorts as Executive Assistant Manager, with responsibility for the Rooms Division at The Mora Zanzibar. You will oversee various departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Laundry and Guest Services, supporting the Hotel General Manager to maximise profitability while delivering exceptional guest and colleague experiences.

This role will deputise for the Cluster General Manager and assume responsibility for the full hotel operation during any absence.

We are seeking a hospitality leader with experience in internationally recognised hotel and leisure brands and is required to have a strong understanding of the service, operational and guest experience standards typically associated with leading European and international resort operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hotel leader seeking to further develop their strategic, commercial and operational leadership capabilities in preparation for a future General Manager role.

About The Job

  • Maintain and promote the hotel’s operational excellence.
  • Direct all operational activities towards supporting the Hotel’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
  • Work closely with the General Manager in the day-to-day operation of the hotel to ensure profitability and consistently high standards of product and performance, service recovery and problem resolution.
  • Monitor hotel occupancy, productivity and labour costs, making operational adjustments as required.
  • Supervise the budgeting, forecasting, training, and colleague development of the Rooms Department including Housekeeping Services, Front Office, Concierge and Guest Services.
  • Monitor Rooms Division revenue and expenses, prepare forecasts, and work with department heads to implement policies and drive service improvements where required.
  • Plan, update and attend various hotel meetings such as: Staff Meetings, Rooms Division Meetings, Executive Committee Meetings, Quality Teams Meetings, etc.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships that promote colleague engagement, productivity and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests and colleagues through the effective application of health, safety and risk management standards.

About You

  • You will demonstrate a substantial and successful track record in leading hotel operations (preferably 5-star) as Assistant General Manager/ EAM or equivalent hotel leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead rooms division in additional to other department heads and drive operational and commercial performance through effective coaching, accountability and collaboration.
  • Excellent people leader with the strong ability to motivate and inspire at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-discipline, initiative, and leadership ability.
  • Creative and effective team player, possessing a high degree of professionalism, human resources management capabilities, business acumen, energy, and determination.
  • Must be able to handle the demands of a fast-paced hotel environment while simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities.
  • Proven organizational skills, able to set and meet deadlines with quality results.
  • Proficient in the use of hotel technology platforms and operational systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS), ideally Opera.
  • Cultural intelligence with the ability to lead, develop and engage a diverse international workforce.
  • Languages required: Excellent English is required other European languages would be highly desirable.
