Job Purpose:

To operate hydraulic excavators to excavate, load, trench, lift, and perform detailed finishing work in an efficient and safe manner according to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators (e.g., 20-ton to 40-ton class) to dig, load trucks, create trenches, and lay pipes.
• Perform precise and controlled digging in various ground conditions, often near utilities or structures.
• Conduct thorough pre-operational inspections and basic servicing (greasing, checking tracks/hydraulics).
• Work closely with ground personnel (spotters) to ensure safety during lifting and blind-spot operations.
• Utilize different buckets and attachments (hammer, grapple) as required by the task.
• Achieve daily production targets while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as an Excavator Operator, with a preference for mining or major civil works.
• Valid operator's license/certificate. Certification for lifting operations is an advantage.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in mining or heavy civil construction.
• Proven track record of working in remote site locations.
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Relevant trade certification, vocational training, or operator licenses.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging outdoor environments.
• Fluency in Kiswahili; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
