Background

To ensure the optimal performance, maintenance, and repair of all factory/estate buildings, infrastructure, and utilities (water, electricity, drainage) to support uninterrupted production operations in Tanga.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for all factory buildings, roads, fences, and drainage systems.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of utility lines (water supply, electrical substations, sewage systems).
  • Manage contractors and service providers for civil, electrical, and plumbing works.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and budgets for minor projects and renovations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations for all estate infrastructure.
  • Respond promptly to engineering emergencies and breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, work orders, and asset conditions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Tanzania.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial estate setting.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge in civil, electrical, and/or mechanical systems.
  • Project management and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Supervision and contractor management skills.
