Electrical Technician (Diploma)

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility's electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and specialized hospital wiring (e.g., medical gas systems, backup generators).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Install wiring, lights, and electrical fittings in new and existing hospital structures.
  • Repair: Diagnose electrical faults and repair motors, switchboards, and control gear.
  • Generators: Maintain and operate standby generators and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS).
  • Safety: Ensure all electrical systems comply with hospital safety regulations (fire safety).
  • Emergency: Respond to power outages and electrical emergencies immediately.
  • Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of electrical panels and cables.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Power Option).
  • Valid electrical compliance certificate/license.
  • 2+ years experience in building maintenance.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of industrial and domestic wiring.
  • Understanding of hospital electrical load requirements.
