The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of electrical and automation systems within the plant. The role offers an opportunity to work with advanced industrial technologies while contributing to plant reliability, production efficiency, and safety performance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC systems and related instrumentation equipment, including temperature sensors, limit switches, proximity sensors, flow switches, flow monitors, and pressure switches.
- Perform parameterization and maintenance of Frequency Drive Systems.
- Interpret electrical drawings to support effective troubleshooting of electrical control systems.
- Inspect and verify proper installation of electrical equipment, including testing continuity, polarity, insulation, and earthing systems.
- Correct abnormalities identified during inspections and testing activities.
- Lead and coordinate shift activities to ensure smooth plant operations and full utilization of plant capacity.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Conduct planned equipment inspections using checklists and report identified abnormalities.
- Prepare monthly technical reports covering scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities as well as equipment breakdowns.
- Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for equipment failures lasting more than one hour.
- Ensure safety compliance by conducting daily toolbox meetings before starting any task.
- Record all shift activities in the shift logbook and submit reports in a timely manner using Excel.
- Support maintenance management strategies related to spare parts, planned maintenance, planned outages, and plant reliability improvement.
- Identify and manage inventory levels for critical spare parts.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Department to ensure timely availability and durability of required parts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering.
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage.
- Registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Graduate Engineer is required.
- Professional Engineer registration will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLC systems, instrumentation equipment, and electrical control systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
