Responsibilities

  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, mortgages, separation agreements, and legal opinions.
  • Review, edit, and approve legal documents before submission.
  • Assign, monitor, review, and ensure the timely completion of corporate team tasks.
  • Attend client meetings on behalf of or alongside the partner on corporate matters.
  • Hold corporate team meetings, follow up on tasks, and update the partner on progress.
  • Maintain timely communication with clients and provide regular work updates.
  • Conduct team meetings to discuss workload, priorities, and legal developments.
  • Lead and mentor the corporate team, providing legal guidance and supporting professional growth.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in law (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in corporate and commercial law practice.
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents.
  • Experience in client advisory services on corporate legal matters.
  • Prior experience in supervising or leading a legal team
  • Strong understanding of Tanzanian corporate laws, labor laws, commercial laws, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
