OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

The overall purpose of the role of Coordinator 2 – Exploration within the GGM Exploration Team is to provide support to Exploration – Planning, Resourcing and Scheduling leadership to coordinate the execution of daily and short-term work plans while ensuring streamlined integration of Exploration- Planning, Resourcing and scheduling functions with other geology sections. Key accountabilities include managing the full cycle of exploration spending, drilling contractors’ payments, purchase requisitions (PRs), monthly accruals, and capital projects budget tracking. Overseeing tenement renewals and regulatory reporting, alongside validating geological data integrity and reconciling “Eplods” from drilling contractors. Coordinating with the supply chain for field consumables and sampling materials to ensure uninterrupted exploration activities. The role holder will directly report to Senior Supervisor – Core shed Resourcing.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Successfully complete mandated HSE training programs and maintain full adherence to all Standard work Procedures (SWPs).
  • Oversee the coordination and execution of toolbox meetings, ensuring all teams meet HSE performance requirements.
  • Validate collected geological information for quality, consistency, and traceability, ensuring data integrity for downstream processes. This is not limited to Daily Drilling reports from contractors, Geotechnical data, Specific gravity data and Geological core photos.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of drilling contractors Eplods, validating cost data, and ensuring alignment between reported DDR’s and records from Geologists and Field Technicians. Including managing the entry and synchronization of drilling plods into Krux and other integrated drilling data management systems.
  • Oversee raising of Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Service Entry Sheets (SES) for exploration activities, ensuring proper approvals, documentation, and traceability. This includes creating, tracking, and close PRs; ensure alignment with project plans and relevant approvals.
  • Accountable for the accurate processing of drilling payments and ensuring timely, compliant settlements with contractors. Resolving timely discrepancies with field teams and contractors.
  • Prepare accruals for monthly/quarterly reporting to support accurate financial forecasting and month-end close. Collaborate with finance and geology teams to forecast and record accruals accurately.
  • Administer tenement management and compliance, including renewals, reporting, and liaison with regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor stock levels of critical geological consumables (field supplies, sampling and processing materials) and initiate replenishment to avoid shortages.
  • Coordinate and Monitor geology capital project spendings, tracking budgets, variances, and project progress against milestones.
  • Maintain and update daily Core shed KPIs within the PIP system to ensure real-time performance tracking.
  • Manage and maintain comprehensive document control systems for the Geology department to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Support Senior Supervisor-Core shed on data input to the TM1 for the E4V processes.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in Geology / Mining Engineering / Mineral Processing from a recognized institution.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • 2 to 3 years working experience in exploration or mining environment, preferably in data management & processing.
  • Solid understanding of exploration operations, drilling workflows, geological data types, and common procurement processes.
  • Experience with accruals, PRs, payment processing, and cost tracking within an exploration context.
  • Computer skills (particularly on GIS, Excel, Word, SAP, Document Control, Docusign, Database, and report writing).
  • Authority to intervene and stop unsafe acts or tasks.
  • Authority to assign or delegate the task to subordinate.
  • Coaching and mentoring subordinates
