1 General Information
Title of the posting: Consultancy Services for Information Computer Technology (ICT) Training.
Organizational: Hand in Hand Eastern Africa, Tanzania
Duration of assignment: 20 days.
Hand in Hand Eastern Africa Tanzania is part of the global Hand in Hand international network, with independent operations within the Eastern Africa region with a mission to work for the economic and social empowerment of marginalized women, youth and men and therefore the society by supporting the creation of sustainable enterprises and jobs. The organization started operations in Northern Tanzania in august 2016 and rolled out her outreach and promotion in January 2018.Currently, Hand in Hand Tanzania is operating in Arusha, Manyara, Singida, Dodoma and Kilimanjaro regions. Hand in Hand Tanzania has so far mobilized, trained and is training over 30,000 members (83%women,30%youth) who has created over 22,000 enterprises (20% eco-enterprise) and over 30,000 Jobs in the Tanzanian programs.
The organization strives to work with the marginalized communities in the areas of economic and social empowerment using a participatory approach aimed at helping people fight poverty and vulnerability. the HIHEATZ enterprise and job creation approach is based on a philosophy of self-help, providing enterprise training, skills and support to enable people living in poverty, particularly women, to build and sustain independent, market-based, economic activities.
The Future Entrepreneur Project focuses on introducing entrepreneurship skills to youth during their school years which will help them to tackle the global employment crisis. By gaining these skills early, young people will be better equipped to compete in the job market and create self-employment opportunities both within and beyond their communities.
The project therefore seeks to train 900 students, in Secondary Form 3, in 20 government schools across the Manyara Region, northern Tanzania, in entrepreneurship, business, money management, climate resilience and ICT for the period of five years from 2024– 2029. The plan is to reach four schools each year with 45 students at each school. Students will be supported to create student clubs (under the supervision of HiH TZ and their schoolteachers) that engage them in starting up enterprise projects, while promoting sustainable income generation projects and activities in their communities.
With this background, Hand in Hand Eastern Africa, Tanzania is therefore looking to engage an experienced registered consulting firm to train 900 students on ICT training.
The general objective of the consultancy is to train and Mentor student’s skills set in enterprise digitalization and basic Information Computer Technology.
The consulting firm will be responsible for:
Conducting training in ICT to Nine hundred (900), 180 from 4 schools each year students in 20 secondary schools of Babati District Manyara. The consulting firm will cover the following activities.
Training but not limited to the mentioned Computer skills below:
Basic ICT training
Digital marketing
The consulting firm is expected to spend a maximum of 5 days for training for each school in which for this first year will be 45 students per school. During this time, the firm advised to consider preparation of training materials, travelling days, training, and report writing.
Minimum Qualifications of the consultant:
Education | Suitably qualified Team leader with at least a bachelor’s degree in Computer science, software or related field |
Experience | · At least 3 years of relevant work experience ICT training
· Experience on online marketing and promotions |
Competence | · Competent and possess practical skills ICT |
Language | · Excellent communication and writing skills in English language and Swahili |
Writing sample | · Please share one sample of training manual you have developed in similar recent consultancy assignment you have undertaken. |
The Hand in Hand Eastern Africa Tanzania standard of payment is the output-based installment scheme and payment will be made upon completion of the tasks as agreed at the time of signing of contract. The amount paid shall be inclusive of all associated costs necessary for the delivery of the assignment.
The financial proposal must have adequate breakdown of expenses such as consultancy fees (inclusive of transport, lunch& dinner, transport to the training center) and training materials costs such as training manuals, notebooks, marker pen and flip charts.
Interested institution/organization/consultancy firm must submit a technical and financial proposal that presents a detailed understanding of the TOR and clearly demonstrates how the consultant plans to execute the assignment, updated CVs showing relevant experience of the consultancy team members via e-mail procurement@handinhandea.or.tz on or by the end of 13rd August 2025.
